Transparent Blog is a simple yet appealing blog, featuring short bios and updates for bands followed bye either an mp3 file or video. The blog is rather abstract in its format, using post titles that are not related to the mentioned artist. Transparent also uses photographs at the start of each post, usually unrelated to the artist as well and washed out in an intentionally obscure fashion. These visual aesthetics are inviting and coherent with the content of the blog.
From their About section:
"Transparent started out as a physical, printed mag/fanzine in 2005. We started putting on shows in London in early 2006, with artists including Girls, Laura Marling, Florence & The Machine, Foals, Telepathe, Noah and the Whale, The XX, Late of the Pier and The Very Best amongst others. The fanzine was morphed into the Blog you see before you and thats where we’ve been ever since. In Summer ’09 we put out the first of our limited 7” vinyl singles on Transparent Records."
Obviously, Transparent is an evolving project whose history extends beyond the blogosphere. It's interesting that they started as in a print format and turned towards online publication. This denotes not only the trend of online publication but the dying age of print media due to rising costs and lack of interest.
